A Trade Mark readily distinguishes a particular product or service from that of its competitors. A Trade Mark has been defined as a word, device (logo), sign, container, shape, colours(s), sound, smell or slogan. Although the system is still evolving in some areas, there are now many new
opportunities to protect a product or services' Trade Mark.
Trade Marks are currently registered under one or more of 42 separate classifications for goods and services as defined in the Nice Agreement.
